Michigan International Speedway, about 75 miles west of Detroit in the town of Brooklyn, hosts the only NASCAR appearance in the Great Lakes State this year, Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 Cup series race. All NASCAR Michigan sports betting interest will focus on the 2-mile oval this weekend.

NASCAR’s top series raced at Michigan twice a year from 1969 to 2020, except 1973. But the Cup schedule has been shaken up in recent seasons and, for the fourth consecutive year, the top stock car stars are making just one visit.

The odds above are from BetRivers Michigan Sportsbook.

As he often does, Kyle Larson enters this race as the favorite this weekend, with +550 odds at BetRivers for Sunday’s race (2 p.m. Eastern, Amazon Prime and Max).

If you believe in patterns, Larson could be an interesting case. His first win this season came March 23 at Homestead. He was winless for two races then took victory at Bristol on April 13. After two more races without a victory, he captured the checkered flag May 11 at Kansas. Since then, Larson has had two winless races – which might just set him up to return to Victory Lane on Sunday.

One driver to watch – for at least top-5 or top-10 props if not victory – for NASCAR betting in Michigan this weekend is young Great Lakes State native Carson Hocevar of Spire Motorsports. The 22-year-old, born in Portage, Michigan, has finished second twice this season, including last week at Nashville. Just 14 races into the season, he has set career highs for top-5 finishes (two) and laps led (38) in a season, but is his smallish team ready for victory?

He has +2000 odds to break through for his first win in NASCAR’s top series, but his line of -125 for a top-10 finish with DraftKings Michigan Sportsbook might be a more tempting prop.

The drivers above are sorted by best average finish for active full-time Cup Series drivers in a minimum of eight Michigan races since 2018 (the data comes from racing-reference.info).

The most dominant driver in recent years at Michigan is Kevin Harvick, with six wins from 2010 to 2023, but he is retired and is a broadcaster for Fox Sports NASCAR coverage.

Do you believe in existing data or recent form? The active driver with the most top-5 finishes over the past 10 races at Michigan is Kyle Busch, with six. But last year Busch went winless for the first time since becoming a full-time Cup series driver in 2005 and this year is even worse, with the Richard Childress Racing driver finishing in the top 5 just once in 2025.

At Caesars Michigan Sportsbook, Busch has +320 odds for a top-5 finish and a -110 wagering line for a top-10 run.
